Method of Calculating JEE Main Score :

JEE Main 2018 Score will be calculated by 4 marks for each Correct Answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

But sometimes more than one student can get same marks at this time, there is a tiebreaker rule which is mentioned below.

JEE Main Paper Tie Breaking Criterion
JEE Main Paper I
  • First, candidates with higher marks in Mathematics in JEE Main 2018 will be given better rank.
  • Thereafter, candidates with better/higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.
  • Still, if the tie exists, then the ratio of positive marks and negative marks secured by the candidates will be taken into account. Candidates with the higher absolute value of the ratio will be given higher rank.
  • In case the tie is not broken yet, then candidates will be given the same JEE Main rank.
JEE Main Paper II
  • First, the candidate securing higher marks in Aptitude Test will get the higher rank.

Still, if the tie is there, then higher marks in Drawing Test will be considered to offer higher/better rank.

  • At the next stage to break the tie, the ratio of positive and negative marks will be taken into account.
  • Candidate having the higher absolute value of the ratio will be given higher rank.
  • In case the tie is not broken, candidates will be given same ranks.

But having a good rank in JEE Main 2018, it doesn’t mean that you will get a chance to take admission in good Engineering College. Because along with JEE Main marks you also need a good mark in your Board Exams. The process of calculations are mentioned below :
